New & Upcoming Game Releases: September 2020

Here are some new and upcoming indie games to get excited about! Please note: sometimes it can be difficult to find information about indie games, but I did my best to provide useful and accurate details. I have cited my sources below each game description. If you missed my new & upcoming releases posts from August, check them out here (first and second).

Paradise Killer

"Paradise Island, a world outside reality. There’s been a murder that only "investigation freak" Lady Love Dies can solve. Gather evidence and interrogate suspects in this open world adventure. You can accuse anyone, but you’ll have to prove your case in trial to convict. It’s up to you to decide who’s guilty."

Release Date: September 4, 2020

Developer: Kaizen Game Works

Publisher: Fellow Traveller

Available for: Nintendo Switch, PC

Price: $19.99

My Thoughts: Based on what I've seen, this looks like a beautiful game. I might buy it at some point.

Star Renegades

"Star Renegades is a dimension spanning rogue-lite strategy RPG. Outsmart uniquely generated adversaries, forge bonds between heroes and end the cycle!"

Release Date: September 8, 2020

Developer: Massive Damage, Inc.

Publisher: Raw Fury

Available for: PC

Price: $24.99

My Thoughts: I like the game's vibe, but there's no way I'd pay full price for it.

As Far As The Eye (AFATE)

"Build a mobile village and travel with your tribe toward the center of the world, called The Eye. This roguelike turn-based resource-management game is made of procedural situations, natural events, skill-trees and hard choices. Ready to move?"

Release Date: September 10, 2020

Developer: Unexpected

Publisher: Goblinz Studio, Maple Whispering Limited

Available for: PC

Price: $24.99

My Thoughts: I love the aesthetic, but the gameplay mechanics seem as though they wouldn't be my preference. I'm reluctantly passing on this one.

"Master momentum in this unique jumping game that features no jump button! Preserve your potential energy and fall to new heights as you solve these clever puzzles and maneuver your way to victory."

Release Date: September 10, 2020

Developer: Toasterfuel

Publisher: The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild, Toasterfuel

Available for: Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC.

Price: $9.99

My Thoughts: This game looks cute and classic, and it's reasonably priced. However, I don't know that I'm excited enough about it to purchase it.

1. Deleveled, "Press Kit,"

Moon Raider

"Moon Raider is a 2D action adventure platformer set in the diverse and dangerous underworld of the moon."

Release Date: September 10, 2020

Developer: Cascadia Games

Publisher: Crescent Moon Games

Available for: PC, mobile (September 30, 2020)

Price: $12.99 ($4.99 on mobile)

My Thoughts: It looks fun, but based on what I've seen it doesn't seem easily distinguishable from the many other games like it. I doubt I'll play it.

Escape Knox Manor

"Escape rooms are fun! But Escape Knox Manor asks the question what if you were actually kidnapped? And what if you had to escape a mansion? Find out now!"

Release Date: September 14, 2020

Developer: JTA Games

Publisher: JTA Games

Available for: PC

Price: Unknown

My Thoughts: If the game is scary, I'm not interested (seeing as I don't enjoy scary games). I'll have to watch some gameplay and determine whether it would be a fun play as Halloween approaches.

2. Steam, "Escape Knox Manor,"

Kings Town

"Build up your own civilization in the time of kings and kingdoms. Become the manager of a little town and make it to a great city. Defend it from other kingdoms and destroy them."

Release Date: September 25, 2020 (Early Access)

Developer: Leturs Labs

Publisher: Leturs Labs

Available for: PC

Price: Unknown

My Thoughts: It looks cute! I'd love to give it a try. Whether I play it will depend largely on pricing.
